Project Description

World Communion 2004

The altar is draped with a sari that was given to me by Vasanta Kumar when we traveled with him to his native village in India near Mysore. The village traditionally grew silk worms, made silk and wove saris. Vasanta was the first from his village to go on to higher education. He was a Doctor of Ministry student of Bill’s at Candler School of Theology, and was later made a bishop in the Church of South India. The brass candlesticks were also a gift from him.
