The Good Seed

This was my first commission at Andover Newton Theological School, suggested by Professor Brita Gill-Austern and commissioned by President Benjamin Griffin for the entrance to Dabney Hall. The theme is of a yet-to-emerge flower, such as in a tulip bulb. The term “seminary” can refer to a seedbed—in this case, the seedbed and flowering of students as they study for ministry. 30″ x 48″  1996
