Project Description

Shekinah

This more abstract image and concept comes from the use of the female Hebrew word Shekinah, in reference to God. Again the overlapping of two squares, heaven and earth, form a sort of wheel. Everything is a little off kilter to suggest movement and flow, from the design, words, and colors. The couched border is coconut fiber retrieved from a waste bin at a rope factory in India, where everyone had a good laugh at my retrieval. 39″ x 42″  1993
