“More Beautiful for Having Been Broken”

These two pierced lattice-patterned ceramic pieces were both lamps. They were both purchased by our friends, Anita and Wilson Strickhausen, in Taiwan. In the course of use in their home, they both fell and broke. Because of their sentimental value, I repaired them to the extent feasible, but the smaller one has considerable missing material. The gap in the side argued for its reconstruction as a candle holder.
