Project Description

Heiligenberg

This piece was woven in Heidelberg while we were on sabbatical in 1991-92. It refers to the legendary “mountain of the Saints” behind our apartment in Handschusheim, and a mysterious ancient well on the side of one of the hills, which has the carving of a woman’s face deep within the well. The well’s builders and purpose are unknown. The small, carved wooden cross which is attached at the top was carved by my son Aaron. 11″ x 48″  1992
