A “Roundtable Worship” Group has met regularly at First UMC, Waynesville, since 2003. You can read more about it HERE. After a few years I decided to build an appropriate table for this form of worship anchored in conversation as well as elemental meal sharing. The circle of the table is reflected in the arc of the walnut pedestal as well as the crossed mandorlas on the maple top. A circle of purpleheart speaks of the creative source of all life.

A few years later, I used the same top design in the folding lectern I made to accompany its use in traditional worship.
