Project Description

Ancient Brokenness

Baghdad to Richland Creek

Our friend and peacemaker Ken Sehested brought these broken pottery pieces from the gravel around an ancient ziggarat, just before the outbreak of the Iraq War. The shards on the left board are from the ziggarat. The broken pottery on the right board are from Richland Creek, which runs through our town. The board came from nearby Lake Junaluska. It is to suggest something like a non-verbal slate of commandments. 18” x 24” 2003
