A Eucharistic Liturgy

Affirmation and Thanksgiving

In His death and Resurrection, in the Spirit of your assembly, You have broken down the dividing walls of hostility. The Covenant you began with humanity, continued with Abraham and Sarah, pursued with Esther and David, Jeremiah and Isaiah, and poured out for all peoples through Jesus, now includes even us.

Thanks be to God that the power of a New Center, a New Beginning, and a New End is available for us here and now.

Let us gather around the table in the Spirit of Christ to renew our life in communion with all the Saints.

The Consecration

With outstretched hands we offer up the fruits of our lives to you, O Giver of Life. And we remember the sacrifice and the victory that has given us this life together. In this meal we recall vividly that Jesus gathered his disciples together at the Passover meal in Jerusalem and took the bread and broke it, saying: "This is my Body, which is broken for you."

And at the conclusion of the meal he took the cup and said: "This cup which is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood."

Song of Remembrance: (Joe Wise, " Jesus we know you)

Let us eat of his bread and drink of his cup, that we might pass from death into new life in his spirit.

The Distribution

Prayer After Communion

Like a Mother straining in birth you have struggled with us to bring us to new life. May we always be nourished by your spirit throughout our life as we long for the completion of your entire creation. In the name of the Creator, the Redeemer and the Spirit of Life. AMEN.
